Different people respond in different ways to this challenge and it is surprising that so many people have real difficulty in planning their future career and producing a professional CV.
Some feel that they have been treated well by their employers in a difficult situation, others feel bitter and twisted. What has been observed is that all those who have received some outplacement help feel a lot more positive towards their previous employer than those who have not.
With this in mind Pursuit NHA has created an Outplacement Model for middle and senior managers, i.e. those earning around £40k per annum or more.
The investment for each person usually represents only small on-cost to the redundancy £ being paid.
“I was a student at Aston University studying Civil Engineering in the 1970’s. I completed my undergraduate industrial training placements and was subsequently hired by John Laing Construction, one of the UK’s leading civil engineering companies on their graduate programme.
In 2009, after 32 years employment with the company (I had never worked for anyone else!) an international posting failed to materialise and I found myself at a career crossroads at a time when the recession was beginning to bite in the UK.
Although I am naturally optimistic and tend to see the best in all situations I went through all sorts of emotion – disappointment, anxiety, and concerns for the future –even beginning to question my value and ability.
